Renaming a ZFS Pool

Post by kernow »

http://prefetch.net/blog/index.php/2006 ... -zfs-pool/

Is it as simple as this? What does 'exporting' the pool actually do? I suppose it doesn't matter as long as it goes back the same after.

Any caveats I should watch out for?

I imagine the webGUI would reflect the changes I make on the command line? I imagine so.

Yes, but can be more simple : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19253-01/819 ... index.html No need to export / import

PD: You can rename a snapshot too: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19253-01/819 ... index.html

That looks like it's renaming the mountpoint or location rather than just the poolname in the gui? hmm.
