Hi,
Nas4Free is awesome. And I'd like to use it as a mail archive.
I am thinking of a IMAP server (for each user?). I can move my mails from my mail provider (with limitted storage) to my NAS4FREE box.
Is there anything available? What do you think?
Thanks

Re: IMAP mail storage (mail archive)
Is there nobody else who has the same demand for a mail archive?
Is anyone aware of a solution similar to NAS4Free that is capable for this task?

To be honest I am a bit confused. Is there any NAS4FREE related documentation about this?

Re: IMAP mail storage (mail archive)
No one has done this. I am sure it can be done, but I am guessing most people just store their e-mail in a "local" archive on the network drive mapped to nas4free.

Re: IMAP mail storage (mail archive)
Thanks.
So they are probably accessing a Maildir located within a mounted directory.
This could be good enough for me too. Could anyone describe how this is done exactly? Please take into account that my client (Debian testing) has access to the NAS4FREE box only occasionally.

Re: IMAP mail storage (mail archive)
The method varies with the client. For MS Outlook, for example, just put a pst on your P: drive...
