EDIT: See edit
I've got something so goofy happening that I think I must be doing something wrong or have missed something obvious.
I have a ZFS volume that I've shared out via NFS. I mount that on a Linux system, pump it full of data, and can read/write just fine via NFS. The exported path is "/mnt/space/Movies/".
Then, to give my Windows boxes access, I've enabled local auth and added a local user ("nas"), and have added a SMB share "/mnt/space/Movies/". I Go over to Windows client, and can access "\\NAS4FREE\Movies". BUT - There's nothing there. No files, no directories.
Then, I go over to the NAS4Free shell and navigate to "/mnt/space/Movies/" and see NOTHING. Check on NFS - It's all there. Check via shell or via CIFS, nothing.. So, I copied a file over to the share via SMB from the Windows client, and I see it in Windows AND via the NAS4Free shell. Also, I see it in the File Manager in the web gui. But not all the other data uploaded via NFS.
This got me thinking that it's almost like the ZFS volumes are not mounted. I checked "mount", and they are.
What am I missing? Is it a permissions issue?
EDIT: I have made a new discovery.
In my NFS config, I exported both "/mnt/space/Movies/" and "/mnt/space/" with subdirectories. Apparently, this screwed something up terrifically, because when I mounted the NFS share on my Linux box and copied over the data, it went into some nowhere-land. I removed the "/mnt/space/" with subdirectories export, reconnected from my Linux box to "/mnt/space/Movies/", and BOOM - there were the SMB-created files from Windows. BUT, all the files created via NFS were gone..
Anyhow, I think I'll dig around a bit to figure out where the heck the other data went, and then if it's too painful just blow it away and copy it all over again..
