Proper method for removing iSCSI services and data

Post by provels »

I've been trying to choose whether to use CIFS or iSCSI for my file sharing and have finally settled on CIFS. I offlined the ISCSI drive from my Windows box (I did not delete the partition first), removed all the related settings through the NAS4FREE web admin, then rebooted the NAS. After reboot, I didn't notice any increase in free space, so I SFTP'd to the NAS and saw the ISCSI_data (I think that was it) folder still remained. I deleted that through the SFTP session. Still didn't see an increase in space. Did I completely fail in this procedure? Thanks for reading and for any replies.

Where do you expect to see increased free space? You have mounts / volumes which you need to use.

Are you running ZFS?
