Hello, wondering if anyone tried running an PVR backend with a dual DVB-S2 tuner and a softcam software that gets infomation from an card reader in a jail, for use to watch Canal digital (Norway).
Hoping use:
Digital device Cine s2, http://www.digitaldevices.de/english/Cine_S2.html
OMNICARD 3021, http://www.hidglobal.com/products/reade ... y/3021-usb
Any ideas how to get this work?

imo just get a rasperry pi 2 and set up a pvr server on that.

Re: Running PVR backend and Softcam
I absolutely agree to b0ssman, I tried to install TVHeadEnd on my N4F server and ended on a Raspberry Pi B (which is sufficient for recording at least 3 channels and watching another channel in parallel without drop outs or stuttering) where the installation was done in a few minutes. TVHeadEnd supports both DVB and IPTV and together with a SSD I have now a silent solution for viewing/recording which consumes not more than about 3.5 W

Re: Running PVR backend and Softcam
Yes, I was thinking about getting a Raspberry pi, the downside is that you need USB tv cards.
Can you recommend a setup that's capable of receiving 2 or more channels at once and able decrypted HD channel either with softcam or an ci module and cam? Dvb-S2
EDIT:
Anyone tried setting it up in a virtualbox?
Is it possible to pass the PCIe tuner card and smartcards reader to the the operativsystem in the virtualbox?
