Hi all,
I am trying to add a 3TB external eSATA drive to my current NAS setup (9.3.0.2 - Nayla (revision 1310), RAIDZ3, 11x 1TB).
eSATA interface is provided by a HighPoint Rocket 622 2-port 6Gbps eSATA card.
After connecting the drive is appears to be properly recognized by NAS4Free.
Disks | Management, shows disks ada0 - ada11, where ada4 is the external drive, the other drives are part of the RAIDZ3 config.
So far so good.
When I try to format the drive, the pulldown menu (to choose the disk to be formatted) shows ada11 (part of RAIDZ3 . . . ) but not ada4.
After disconnecting the drive, formatting it as UFS and reconnecting it again, the same thing (with the pulldown menu) happens when trying to configure the drive as a mountpoint. Ada11 shows up, ada4 not!
Not sure how to proceed. Anyone?

Re: eSATA drive not 'properly' recognized
before formatting you need to sync the zfs array as well.
