1TB and larger. Partition or no?

Post by nas4fpksky »

I have a Green Western Digital drive and I've heard there are "park" problems with the green drive.

As a general question, does it improve the use of a hard drive to partition it? And in particular, would it help ease the park problem of the green WD hard drives?

Haven't heard of partitioning a drive in years.

The head park thing is addressed with the wdidle utility. Do a search on wdidle for info / background

Maybe people just haven't figured out a way to do it with a cell phone.

post the smart values of your drive.

partitioning on a wd green has no impact on the head parking.
