Rsync: how to configure it to a little local network

Post by plug »

Hi all

im a newbe of nas4free and i have built a nas server to a little local network and i would want to use service rsync to backup my data.

The ip address of my laptop is 192.168.1.3 and ip of N4F is 192.168.1.2.

The directories:

A) LAPTOP 192.168.1.3 / home / user / Desktop / MY_DIR
B) N4F 192.168.1.2 / mnt / ARCHIVE / NASDATA / backup / RSYNC /

But we come to the point: this is the layout that presents itself to me in the configuration panel that you all know:

Server | Client | Local
Settings | Modules

How can I do to set the configuration? I do not know where Tab and fill boxes. Where do I start?

Thanks in advance to those who will give me this little help

I would enable ssh on nas4free and run the rsync scripts from your laptop. The GUI is very limited.

I just turned on the ssh nas4free and my laptop and I tried this little script from the command line. This is fine for me.

That is:
sudo rsync --delete --exclude -auz .Trashes / ssh / home / user / Desktop / my_dir root@192.168.1.2: / mnt / ARCHIVE / NASDATA / backup / RSYNC /

But I would like to use the webgui of N4F for my run this script. How would you?
Excuse me for asking, because the GUI is very limited?
Thank you for your response.

Read my thread right above (or right below) this one. The methods promoted in the documentation will not work when going between two nas4free boxes, since keys are not persistent, and the GUI will not allow root access to local files. That is what I mean by limited.
