I recently upgraded from freeNAS 0.7 to NAS4Free. Everything is fine, except my disks don't want to spin down.
Every single disk has "Hard disk standby time" set.
"Advanced Power Management" and "Acoustic level" are both disabled.
S.M.A.R.T. is activated with extra options -d removable (otherwise smartd refuses to start)
any ideas?

Re: ZFS does not want to go to sleep
The default S.M.A.R.T. check interval is 30 minutes. The S.M.A.R.T. "Power Mode" setting controls whether or not a disk gets spun-up for a S.M.A.R.T. check:my disks don't want to spin down ... S.M.A.R.T. is activated
Never - Poll (check) the device regardless of its power mode. This may cause a disk which is spun-down to be spun-up when it is checked.
Sleep - Check the device unless it is in SLEEP mode.
Standby - Check the device unless it is in SLEEP or STANDBY mode. In these modes most disks are not spinning, so if you want to prevent a laptop disk from spinning up each poll, this is probably what you want.
Idle - Check the device unless it is in SLEEP, STANDBY or IDLE mode. In the IDLE state, most disks are still spinning, so this is probably not what you want.

Re: [SOLVED] ZFS does not want to go to sleep
I don't think my 2TB drives are going to sleep either despite being on level 64 and 60min sleep. I have smart enabled on the disks page, but on the smart tab I have it disabled because I fear for it .. erm basically.
