Hi all,
Is there a way to set a quota per user on NAS4Free?
I'll explain my situation, at work we are currently using a single bay QNAP device which is good, but limited. We currently have around 40 users with a set quota of 10GB across all shares. This is generally enough for most people and if any more is required, they are granted more.
I would like to have a similar thing set up on NAS4Free but a little better, but I'm not sure if it's possible. I'd like to be able to set a quota per user group:
Staff: 10GB each
Management: 50GB each
SysAdmin: No limit
I would also like to grant more allowance to individual people when needed.
Is this possible?
Thanks, Chris

Re: Set quota per user/group across all shares?
perhaps using ZFS and one dataset for user, but I do not know how-to.
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

It can be done with ZFS like so: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19253-01/819 ... index.htmlraulfg3 wrote:perhaps using ZFS and one dataset for user, but I do not know how-to.
Using datasets for quotas is no good for me because we have a lot of shared folders so the quota on the dataset for those would be for all users and not individually.
