(SOLVED) Error: The changes could not be applied (error code 1)

Post by cssine »

Just upgraded to 9.3.0.2 (Embedded). Existing shares seem to work fine, but can't create a new one. I get Error: The changes could not be applied (error code 1).

Checked the system log and found "root: Failed to reload service samba". Any ideas?

Thanks

you can't upgrade from 9.1 to 9.3, you need to install and configure grom scratch ( of course your data are safe, only need to configure CIFS by hand).

Please do not crosspost: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8954
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

I did install from scratch (I restored the config backup from 9.1). I'll try the reset to factory and manually recreate the shares.

Thanks

Skipped the restore config and things went much smoother. I was sure I read that a config restore was required .. but nope!

Thanks again for the help. That fixed it.
