WD Green HD and Seagate Barracudas

Post by aurbo »

Greetings

Been running Nas4Free now for about a month

Time to try to resolve a few questions I've been unable to find answers for.

1- I have 3 Seagate Baracuda sata drives currently running, When I first installed it was having a lot of trouble accepting my 4th drive a WD Green sata along with the Seagates. Removed the WD Green and everything installed without issue. Running the diagnostics from WD on the Drive, there appears to be no issue with that drive at all. Any clues? Seagate and WD dont get along together?

2- I also have a few older(and fully working) IDE drives I tried to install as well. My motherboard accepts 4 IDE drives as well as 4 sata drives, which had been the configuration prior to installing Nas4Free (it was my old storage/print server PC running WinXp). during installation of Nas4Free, I was unable to install IDE drives as well as sata drives without installation issues so I went with the 4 sata drives, now 3 sata drives(see question 1). again, any clues why this might have happened?
