Just created a new jail using alcatraz version of thebrig. I try and create a user in the jail using adduser or pw adduser and I get the following error:
lib/libutil.so.9: Undefined symbol "mkostemp"
adduser: ERROR: There was an error adding user (username).
any ideas?

did you ever find an answer/solution to this situation? i am currently experiencing the same issue and yours is one of 3 google results; and the only one that is actually related to thebrig or NAS4Free.

I just ran "pw adduser" in a VNET jail - no problem
Just a stab in the dark - when you created the jail in the section "Official FreeBSD Flavor" (at the bottom) - did you include a 32bit library? (e.g. FreeBSD-amd64-10.1-RELEASE-lib32.txz)
