zPool Recovery

Post by Video4Ever »

Newbie here.

I setup a nas4free box a couple of years ago and it ran fine until it crashed last winter. After it crashed it would boot but never finish to the menu screen. A couple of days ago I started to troubleshoot again and discovered that the nas4free boot hard drive had completely failed. I then ran "ubcd" and discovered that the zfs drives were still working. I replaced the boot hard drive and installed nas4free v10.202.

In the webgui under zfs I tried to import the zpool but nothing showed up. After lots of web searching I entered the shell and ran the command "zpool import". It show my old zpool called "zpKingdom". I then ran the command "zpool import zpKingdom. I then went to my mac and in the webgui under disks/zfs/config/sync I did a resync.

At this point, after about four hours, I'm stuck. I can't see the dataset under disks/zfs/dataset and it doesn't show up in the webgui file manager. In the webgui main menu the zpool shows up with the correct used space.

Does anyone have any suggestions before I go trolling the internet tomorrow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks.
