Hi.
I've got a problem with WOL on my NAS. I have MB ASUS E35M1-I, with RTL8168E RealTek LAN controller.
I've send a Magic packet by different ways (from local network, from Internet via Dinamic DNS and so on), and host got this Magic Packet when turned on. But when it's turned off - it doesn't wake.
I've tried to google about it, and, i think, I've found a solution.
There is a thread on forums.freebsd.org, where man with the WOL problem on the same LAN controller asked for help, and one of the FreeBSD developers found, that there was a error in driver, and he wrote a patch.
Here is the thread, and here is the post with link to patch.
Is it possible to ask developers of Nas4Free to apply this patch when the next build of Nas4Free will be compiled?
Thanx.
p.s. I hope, I've made a correct diagnosis, because I'm not very good in all these FreeBSD things...

Re: WOL problem on RealTek 8168
Ha I have the same NIC and was working on this issue just last week and came across the same thread. The issue I noticed is the NIC is not staying powered on upon shutdown, but I am not sure if that patch corrects that or some other issue. Either way it would be nice if a dev could provide a patched kernel and I could test.
Edit: My NIC is actually 8111E, but still same problem.
