OwnCloud

Post by sleid »

Hi,

Just wondering if there are any plans to add OwnCloud as standard packages in Nas4Free. I know these can be added by Jails, but would make life much easier to have it there as standard.

Thanks.

Installation is quite easy, there is no need for a jail. Just start a webserver and download/unpack owncloud in the webserver's directory. Then follow owncloud's own installation guide. Took me not more than ten minutes.

Of course, but when the web server is already in use for a website this seriously complicates filtering and access to resources.

Any idiot-proof advise to complete new users?
I understood what has to be done, but where? via terminal or WebUI?
Right now I am using Dropbox and OneDrive. both suck and OwnCloud seems to be THE solution. But where to start?
