Upgrade through webgui

Post by servingitup »

Hi,

Up to now I have been installing and upgrading the full version to a 64Gb SSD from a usb stick. I'm bored of having to stick the install image on the usb stick, going behind the server, plugging it in, etc. I just want to be able to upgrade through the webgui. As I understand this is only possible on the embedded install and not the full version. So can I stick the embedded install on the SSD?

and if you don't have a SSD the embedded OS can be installed on most any bootable medium.
I have used a small Hdd and they boot embedded fine. Just "install" the HDD to the OS but do not "mount"
set it to spin down after five minutes. it will spin up for config changes, presumably upgrade changes too.

another thing that works if one does not wish to waste a drive connection.
industrial [IDE connected} flash or SSD in a USB Hdd case.

what ever works with the hardware one has [YMMV]
