Who can supply me with a HOWTO for the installation of CouchPotato, SickBeard and Sabnzbd+ on my NAS4Free (embedded) box.
I'm a Linux/BSD n00b so please don't leave anything out that I need to do to get it installed like linking dirs.
I tried to do it on my own and I was able to do a get on sabnzbdplus but all I got was a whole list of errors (no disk space, not able to write to disk, could not find xxx and more of that)
Or do I just need to do a full install, and import my config afterwards?
Maybe a stupid question, but why don't you gys supply a simple way to add this? I'm sure that many users would want to have these packages on their NAS4Free box.

Is more easy If You do a full install, and restore your config, because full install are designes to add packages, and embeded no (You can by pass this limitación as described in several howto, but is dificult ).
You can start reading several howto in: viewforum.php?f=55

But with a full install I lose the possibility to easily upgrade the software.

No, You lose the webgui firmware upgrade, but is as easy as boot from a new CD with new version, to easy upgrade your full install.

That is my problem exactly! I don't have, and don't want to have, an optical drive in my server just to update the firmware.
The option to do the update via the GUI is great! I don't want to lose that!
Plus, my box is in a place where I cannot reach it so easily.

Would like to see this as well, many other NAS software/hardware supports these applications. It would be great for promotion of nas4free as well. ZFS and this software included.
For me its a must having this installed on my NAS.

Re: [REQ] HOWTO install CP & SB & Sabnzbd+ on NAS4Free embed
a little late on this, but the easiest way to upgrade your full install on a headless nas is to:
- pull the drive out from your nas
- put it in e.g. a usb case
- download latest n4f livecd and create a new virtual machine with n4f as boot media
- add your usb disk to the vm
- select "upgrade from the install menu
The update should take like 10 seconds. then shut down the vm, unmount your usb drive, put it back into your nas and enjoy your new version.

And you think taking out the drive is easy? Connecting a monitor and USB optical drive is easier I think...
