=====================================================
Upgrading NAS4Free "Embedded" or "Full" from any version below 9.3.0.2.1310 by webgui or from

INSTALL FROM SCRATCH IS THE ONLY WAY!
After installation you can restore your config.
Sorry for inconvenience.
** ! Tools to write extracted embedded file are not supported ! **
You must use the liveusb/CD for it's first installation!!!.
Install from scratch notes
======================
** Embedded.img.xz is only for upgrades by WEBGUI, do not extract and write to any media! **
Download NAS4Free livecd or liveusb and boot from it.

Upgrade note:
============
You must associate CARP with physical interface explicitly after upgrading to 10.X.
You may need modifying your NFS and AFP share setting.

Re: NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.1962 released (FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-P5)
This seems to be working without issue here. No errors except for the standard "mDNSResponderPosix: mDNS_Register_internal: ERROR!! Tried to register AuthRecord" that we've all grown to love.
Although I do have a question. With this new integrated DLNA/UPNP set up(working set up), would there happen to be any updated instructions for setting this up properly. I see bits and pieces from users, but nothing coherent. Do I need to configure the 49152 port admin page after the initial set up of the database, and if so where are the faq's on that. Just a side issue, and nothing to do with the stability of the build.
Oh, and the cpu load seems to be working fine in this revision. It registers on the summary page and the graphing page. Thanks for your work.

Hello all!
I make upgrade home server - all work.
But I can not find library libidn.so.11 - it was into /usr/local/lib folder . Where is it ? I use this library for dnsmasq extension.
Can you add it, or I need add library with extension ?

Re: NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.1962 released (FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-P5)
I Successfully upgraded my ss-4200 box to *.1962, x86, embedded.
All seemed ok, and then (after a few days running) i got the following error in Diagnostics/Log:
The only uncommon setting I use on samba is:
The box continues to run fine.
Any suggestions on steps needed for further troubleshooting/reporting?
my understanding of posix systems is rather limited.

Re: NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.1962 released (FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-P5)
Since using version 10.2.x.x I've encountered a kernel panic everytime I modify a service and click on "save and restart".
I've been using Nas4free ever since it came out after the "breakup" with FreeNAS.
My config is as follows:
Asus P7P55D-E
i5 750 Quadcore cpu
8GB of DDR3
3x Intel CT desktop 1Gbs network adaptor with LACP config connected to Cisco SLM2008 also on LACP.
3 ZFS pools:
5x 3TB WD disc's connected to the onboard intel connectors
5x 2TB WD disc's connected to an Intel based SAS controller with a LSI 1068E chip.
3x 1,5TB+2x2TB partially on the LSI1068 and partially on the onboard Marvell 88SE912.
All pools are configured as RAID-Z1.
I'm running an embedded x64 version on an OCZ Vertex2 60GB SDD, it has a Data and a Swap partition and is connected to the onboard Intel sata controller.
I made photo of the panic but I can't save the log to disk since I'm running an embedded version.

Re: NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.1962 released (FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-P5)
Your image looks fault on lagg device. I don't know this is caused by LACP.tbusquet wrote:Since using version 10.2.x.x I've encountered a kernel panic everytime I modify a service and click on "save and restart".
Try to use failover instead of LACP. Then, try to remove lagg.

Re: NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.1962 released (FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-P5)
If you upgrade from previous version try to do a fresh installl and configure all by hand ( do not use previosly saved config) to discard problems from a old config.xml file
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

Try to use failover instead of LACP. Then, try to remove lagg.
I did a fresh install many times.
Anyways, I removed the lagg device and am now running on a single NIC, this seems to resolve the panics! I'm curious why this happens though. Lagg was stable with lacp on the previous distributions.

Re: NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.1962 released (FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-P5)
Does anyone care about it or am i the only one with these errors and have to deal with it on my own?
As i said, i have these errors in every 10.* build - sooner or later!

If yes please try to do a fresh install, errors shows is like your SAMBA are a mix (SMB3 & 4), so a new reinstall solve it.
PD: save your actual config.xml file and restre it once you do the reinstall to recover all of your actual config ( shares/services,etc...)

Re: NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.1962 released (FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-P5)
Yeah i didn't do a fresh install since 9.3, i always upgraded.
I thought upgrading overwrites the whole system files so i had no idea that this could affect something.
Thanks for the hint, i will give it a try maybe at the weekend.

Re: NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.1962 released (FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE-P5)
I did a clean/fresh install from scratch this sunday from 10.2.0.2.2003 live USB and restored my config, everything works fine so far.
If the smb/lib errors come back, i will report that in the rev.2003 thread!
Thanks!
