Save Config on 9.3.0.2, install new 10.2.0.2.1962, import old Config, re-sync ZFS configuration ?
Or is ther something else to note?

yes , must work. EDIT: No, DO not Work see: viewtopic.php?f=57&t=10202

if you have problems, all you need is to configure by hand (import disk , import ZFS pools, sync webGUI and real ZFS, and configure services by hand).
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

Is it okay/safe to upgrade the embedded version from

Code: Select all

NAS4Free 9.3.0.2 (1955)
To:

Code: Select all

NAS4Free 10.2.0.2.1962
Using the web GUI?

Hello.

May somebody can help. I tried the update (NAS4Free 9.3.0.2 - Nayla to NAS4Free-x64-embedded-10.2.0.2.2268.img.xz ) over the WebGUI but all the time I get the error: The image is corrupt.
Downloaded the Image from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/nas4fre ... p_redirect
and used two different machines (Win7 and WinXP) and also from different storage places (disk, USB)

I guess the img is not corrupted - so any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advanced for any help.

Humax

Do a fresh install of embeded image( need to boot from liveCD or liveUSB toi do).

Nas4Free 9.3 do not understand .xz compressed image.

of course you need to first save your actual config and restore it when new 10.2 image works.

But I decompressed the file and used the .img file.

But will try it your way.

Thanks!
