Upgrade Advice
Before performing an upgrade, visit System|Backup/Restore to make a backup of your configuration file.
DO NOT use the embedded webgui firmware upgrade if your XigmaNAS server has less than 512MB RAM, use livecd/usb for upgrade than.
If a firmware upgrade fails (Broken Pipe or Mount/Umount related errors, etc), the only solution is to re-install from scratch. This will delete all data on the
OS disk. This has no effect on data-only drives, just data stored on the
OS drive.
512MB of RAM is the minimum system requirement for upgrading any Embedded version of XigmaNAS.
2GB of RAM or higher is recommended for a better system performance.
If you use ZFS than 8GB ram is the minimum system requirement for some performance.
